Background
The association «Natur & Freizeit» runs public campaigns that encourage recreational users and athletes to adopt nature-friendly and environmentally responsible behaviour. It connects stakeholders from the nature and recreation sectors, helps defuse conflicts of use, and promotes shared standards and competencies at the intersection of nature conservation and recreational use.
With the campaigns "Schneesport mit Rucksicht" (Considerate Winter Sports) and "Aufs Wasser mit Rucksicht" (Considerate Water Sports), the association raises awareness for the protection of wildlife and sensitive habitats. Both campaigns are seasonal and target a broad audience in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland.
The brief was to provide communications support for both campaigns and to further develop them. The focus was on strategic and editorial management of social media channels, content creation for various formats and platforms, and support for additional communication activities around the campaigns.
My Role
- Development of the social media strategy for both campaigns
- Editorial planning for the seasonal communication phases
- Creation of copy and visual content for ongoing execution
- Coordination of French translations
- Occasional video production with testimonials
- Coordination of joint posts with campaign partners and multipliers
- Content management of the campaign websites
- Conception and editing of newsletters
- Evaluation of campaign results and preparation of final reports as a basis for developing the next season
Ongoing Collaboration
The collaboration is structured on a seasonal, annually recurring basis. At the start of each season, the strategic setup takes place with sharpening of content, formats, and priorities. During the campaign period, the focus is on operational execution, including content production, publication planning, partner coordination, and ongoing alignment. Afterwards, a comprehensive evaluation follows, serving as the basis for optimising and developing the next season.
