Background

The Speak-Out in Zurich's Niederdorf district is a volunteer-run drop-in centre for people in need that has existed since 1969. Five evenings a week, it offers a safe space with quiet, warmth, community, and a free hot meal. The Speak-Out is supported by donations and the dedication of numerous volunteers.

In 2022, the digital presence was overhauled and the Speak-Out's appearance was redesigned to be contemporary, clear, and accessible. The goal was a website that communicates the offering clearly, builds trust, and gives the association's work appropriate visibility.

My Role

Engagement as a volunteer cook and vice president at the Speak-Out
Conception, design, and content development of the new website
Implementation of a presence that clearly conveys the values, offering, and significance of the Speak-Out

Ongoing Collaboration

The engagement continues through board membership and as a cook, as well as on an ad hoc basis for the further development of communication materials.
